How long will I need to come for therapy?
It is very difficult to predict exactly how a course of therapy will progress, but in most cases a person will want to continue for up to a year, and in some cases for several years. However,it is also possible to arrange a short-term contract for 6 or 12 sessions, and in such a case there would be an agreed focus of this brief form of therapy between client and therapist.
Is there any certainty that psychotherapy can help me?
No guarantees, but if you have a psychotherapist that you feel comfortable with, and who has training and experience that is appropriate for your problems, you are likely to experience some positive benefits before too long.
